If you’re a reader of any sort, one of the true joys of the internet is the proliferation of book giveaways that can keep your e-reader full … maybe fuller than you can handle!
On this page, I’ll try to help you wade through the flood of free offerings and find books and stories that hit the sweet spot for you. If you like my brand of fiction — mostly basic fare that includes stories about the old west, family, wholesome romance, dogs, and some good, old-fashioned chills — you’re bound to find some winners in these listings.
Be sure to check back often, too, because I intend to make this a weekly listing of book giveaways (whether or not any of the stories are mine).
So, let’s get on with …
Book Giveaways for November 15, 2019
Truth is, there are great places all over the internet to find free stories of just about every stripe and to scratch just about any literary itch.
But you might have noticed that I’ve been focused on Story Origin in this space, and that will likely continue for awhile. The reasons are numerous, but some include:
- Story Origin hosts giveaways across all sorts of genres, so they hit that scratch-your-itch point from above.
- Within most of the giveaways, you’ll find authors from a wide diversity of backgrounds.
- Likewise, you’ll find books across a broad spectrum of formats: short stories, preview, novellas, full-on novels.
- Story Origin helps authors connect with readers — like you!
I’m not a part of any new giveaways this week, as I’ve focused my writing efforts on my NaNoWriMo novel, but there are a few new freebie piles worth noting:
This one is all about — surprise! — escape, whether that means fantasy, science fiction, sorcery, or even horror.
Reading November: Great Tales of Fantasy
More escapism here, with a heavy focus on pure fantasy.
Academy Reading Bundle Giveaway
Yet more fantasy, but with the stipulation that these books and stories all tie into an “academy” theme in some fashion.

And, as usual, there are several holdovers from weeks past, and I do have books in these:

Book Giveaways for November 8, 2019
I’m sort of in the middle of NaNoWriMo here this week, so I haven’t written anything new for giveaways recently.
That said, several of the multi-author giveaways cited below are still underway:
Under a Halloween Moon (through November 8)
Whatever You Do … Horror, Suspense, Crime & Thriller (Through November 15)
Halloween Spooktacular (through November 18)

Book Giveaways for November 1, 2019
With October behind us and the holidays barreling head-on like a steam engine, most folks’ thoughts turn away from the darker themes of Halloween and toward the brighter, warmer festitivities of Thanksgiving, Christmas, the New Year.
That turn toward the positive is reflected in most of this week’s new giveaways …
Fantastic Heroines & Epic Adventures (through November 28)
This giveaway offers up a wide selection of fantasy tales, all featuring a woman (or at least a female, depending on the species) as the hero. Here you’ll find my own short, Kickin’ Dragon Tale, which is set in the world of Dummy Malloy. She’s the star of my NaNoWriMo book this year, and you’ll hear more about her later.
Romance FREEBIES (through November 30)
All sorts of romance stories are in the offing here, across the spectrum of “heat,” as the saying goes. My own short story, Bridge to My Heart is decidedly in the clean/cozy category.
Free Romance Reads (through November 30)
Another collection of romance reads, with several tying into that holiday feel that’s just starting to bud. Bridge to My Heart appears here, too.
You can’t expect all those October ghosts and ghoblins to just disappear — poof! — overnight, though. So this last giveaway offers a chance to taper off the dark reads over the course of November …
Autumn Haunts Giveaway (through November 30)
Among the spooky offerings here is my own collection of western horror flash fiction stories, called Tumbleweeds of Terror.
And if you’re not quite ready to give up on the treasures of October, there are plenty of autumn gems to be had in these holdover giveaways from previous weeks:
Spooky Reads Giveaway (through November 1)
After Dark Halloween Mysteries (through November 2)
Free books! (Through November 2)
Under a Halloween Moon (through November 8)
Whatever You Do … Horror, Suspense, Crime & Thriller (Through November 15)
Halloween Spooktacular (through November 18)
Clean Fantasy Reads (through December 14)
Book Giveaways for October 25, 2019
In most ways that matter, this next week is the absolute best of the year.
Consider what’s in the offing …
Autumn colors, apple cider, bonfires, hayrides, harvest, pumpkin goodies, cold nights and warm days, bonfires …
And scary stories by those bonfires.
And more scary stories, everywhere … including these giveaways at StoryOrigin …
Surviving the End (through October 25)
When you get down to it, the end times make for about the scariest stories of all, which makes this an apt giveaway for the run-up to Halloween. Among the goodies here, you’ll find my short story, The Meek Shall Inherit.
Halloween Spooktacular (through November 18)
Horror stories of all ilk and length are the order of the day for this giveaway, and there are enough of them to keep you thrilling until Thanksgiving.
My collection of flash fiction, Tumbleweeds of Terror, is among the titles here.
Clean Fantasy Reads (through December 14)
Most all of my fiction falls into the “clean” category, making this giveaway a perfect fit. If you like fantasy stories that won’t make you cringe, you’re bound to find some good reading here.
Maybe that good reading will even be my YA fantasy short story titled Sunrise Hero.
